DCWA Fall Season 2021
It is the most exciting time of year at DC Way Academy! The fall season has officially commenced, each of our teams kicked off practices on August 30th. Our coaches will focus on furthering players' technical skills and game intelligence throughout the season. We have 9 teams in the academy and within all those teams, there are lots of new faces joining our ranks. We are so excited to welcome everybody to our club! Notably, we have two new coaches with us, Katie Fay and Blake Brown. Katie is coaching the girls 2013/14 team and Blake has the 2013/14 boys. Each has shown a deep passion for the sport of soccer and wants to pass their love of the game down to the next generation.
This season, the Fields at RFK Campus will be our home base for practices. Our teams will be spread out across the DMV area for their travel games. The 2010 girls/boys, 2011 girls/boys, and 2012 girls/boys teams will all be playing in EDP Leagues. Their games will kick off on Saturday, September 11th — let's wish them all luck this season! After the huge success of the House League during the spring season, DC Way Academy will be continuing with the program this fall. We will have leagues for U7/8 boys, U7/8 girls, U9/10 boys, and U9/10 girls. A select few academy teams will be playing in these leagues again as well, including the 2013 and 2014 girls/boys teams, and the 2012 girls/boys teams.
We found that the House League is an excellent place for your child to get more comfortable playing organized soccer. Each week we have a theme and a teaching goal. During the spring season, each and every child that participated in the house league was able to take something away from it. Participants learned the importance of spacing, changing direction, timing their shots, and when to dribble at an opponent.
DC Way is extremely happy to have everybody with us this fall. We will strive to help your child develop into a strong and confident soccer player!
