DC Way, a trusted leader in youth enrichment, is proud to partner with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to bring high-quality after-school programming to families across the city.

We believe in offering more than just aftercare — we provide real enrichment. From hands-on projects to active play, every afternoon is filled with purpose, energy, and joy. Young learners explore art, sports, LEGO, games, and even get homework help, all in one joyful, safe space.

Worried About Transportation?

We offer safe walking pick-up from nearby schools, so you don’t have to worry about after-school logistics.

Currently, we offer pick-up from:

  • School Within School at Goding (SWS)

  • Ludlow-Taylor Elementary (upon request and school approval)

We’re happy to explore pick-up from other schools close to Sherwood Rec, based on interest and staff availability. Just reach out — we’ll do our best to help!

Program Details

Location: Sherwood Recreation Center

Days: Monday–Friday

Start Date: September 3, 2025

Time: 3:15 PM – 6:00 PM

Ages: Open to children ages 5–13 (Grades K–5)

Fee: $40/day — billed monthly (Sep, Oct, Nov)

What a Day Looks Like

Sample Daily Schedule:

  • 3:15 PM – School Pick-Up

  • 3:30 PM – Group Check-In

  • 4:00 PM – Enrichment Activity (Art, STEM, Games)

  • 4:45 PM – Homework Help or Quiet Play

  • 5:30 PM – LEGO/Building or Free Exploration

  • 6:00 PM – Pick-Up

Enrollment Options

  • $40 per individual session

  • $150 per full week (Monday–Friday)

  • Scholarships are available upon request

Payments are non-refundable. Prorated refunds will be considered for extended medical absences with a written request.

We can review written requests for prorated credit in case of illness or emergency.
