Weather Updates
CURRENT WEATHER STATUS: ALL PROGRAMS ARE OPEN!
At DC Way Academy, we continue playing outside when there is a little on-and-off drizzle. However, if the weather becomes unplayable, you must pick up your child.
All locations are open.
Please stay tuned for updates regarding next week’s practice schedule.
DC Way Academy will notify you of a practice cancelation due to inclement weather on this web page.
This page is updated only if required and will only be updated if the situation changes from the previous advice.
Ground conditions are reviewed daily from Monday to Sunday.
If there is thunder and/or lightning, then the DC Way team and players will wait inside for 30 minutes until it clears. If the weather does not clear, then the practice will be canceled.
WEATHER POLICY
Per US Soccer recommendations, DCWA activities will generally be canceled if the temperature is above 92°F or with wind chill is less than 25°F at the start of practice time. Coaches will use their own judgment for holding practices which may include but is not limited to canceled or shortened practices. DCWA favors holding practices whenever is safely possible in order to accommodate those who prefer to train.
For our younger age groups, temperatures between 25°F and 30°F and between 90.1°F and 92°F may make a coach more likely to cancel or alter a scheduled training session.
As we all know, the weather in the Capitol Hill area can be unpredictable at times. We hope to have the best weather during our practices; however, good weather is not always guaranteed. We advise all players and families to follow this page in the case of inclement weather.
Our team is looking forward to providing your child with the best travel team experience in all of Capitol Hill! If you have specific questions not addressed here or on our website, please feel free to reach out to us at contact@dcwayacademy.org.
